Last week I had the new Mazda CX-5 for the day and really had a chance to test it properly as I had a full day of decent travel required for my day job (I ended up putting 220KM on the clock)

This car screams value for money! $43k, or there about, for a vehicle which is quiet, comfortable, fuel efficient, relatively luxurious and extremely reliable!

There is almost no external noise, when you are travelling in the CX-5. It was almost a little too quiet. At 100 you wouldn't even know you were travelling at that speed, luckily the head-up display is directly in your line of sight!

Mazda design have put a lot of focus on getting the interior on these things to look top of their class and, I think they have succeeded. I did like the CR-V a few weeks back, but I think on interior alone, the CX-5 wins this battle.

If I am being honest, the only issue I did have with the car and what turned me off the looks a little bit, was the ride height. It is like it has been scared by a mouse and is trying to tip toe around it. I would've liked Mazda to had this sitting about half the current gap between rim and arch and 19-20 inch rims could've also gone down a treat.
Overall, was well impressed though, the looks are only a personal opinion and, being that you sit inside the car, would only really disappoint someone like me who does go for exterior looks first, then interior (generally)
